Alison Thomas is a working artist currently based at the Courtyard Studios, Irvine, Harbourside, North Ayrshire, Scotland. Alison studied textiles at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee, from 1992-1996.

Alison's paintings and mono-prints explore her interest in texture by using unusual materials such as sand, plaster, dried leaves etc., and a lot of her inspiration comes from nature. Alison loves bold colours and simple composition. Some of her work involves the us of gold and silver leaf as she feels this gives a precious feel to each piece.

Alison also produces handmade felt incorporating various material.
